Q

Hi I’ve been useing a korum all rounder 11ft 1.25tc k flex but it snapped on a foul hooked 17ib carp . I float fish for them is the 11.6 ft omega rod suitable for this type of fishing and size of fish I use 12lb line on reel and 10lb on hook

Hi Wayne, I use a 1.25lb twin tip for most of my fishing and while it can manage anything into low doubles. Landing anything towards the 20lb mark can get a bit dicey. If your using 12lb mainline it might be worth stepping up to the 12ft 1.50lb. The problem I find with stepping up the test curve is that you sacrifice some of the flexibility when flicking out lighter floats. Regards TackleUK'

Q

Hi there I can’t find any feed back any where about the Onega 11ft 6in 1.25lb TC Rod. As some 1.25lb TC Rod can be a bit stiff, I’m reluctant to buy the Omega one as I’d like to use it for Reservoir Roach. Do you think the top section is soft enough for such fishing?

Hi John, I've not used one myself and no one else here owns one. As a general rule though, any rod carrying a 1.25lb test curve is probably going to be a little over gunned. Typically bumping off fish on the strike, which it sounds like you're aware of and trying to avoid. There is a 13ft float rod in the Omega range which might be better suited, I've put in a link below. <a href="https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/Shop/RodsFloatRods/Korum-Omega-Float-Rod-13ft.htm
