I do a lot of floater and zig fishing and when there is a chance of a big un the hooks need to be up to the job. Therein lies the quandary. Use too big and conspicuous a hook and you just wont get a bite.
If its not strong enough youll straighten it or pull the hook. Kordas Mixa hook is just about the perfect compromise. A dull PTFE coating ensures that there is little in the way of reflected light. The ultra-wide gape means that even the smaller sizes have plenty of hooking potential and they are super-sharp. Although the gauge of wire used is quite thin, because the shank is short once the hook has penetrated I have found that it stays put
