Questions and Answers

Q

Hi there, I have just bought this wire and want to use it for hanging up something, so I am intending to tie a few knots in it to create a loop for the item and then hang it on a hook, I note you have crimps ( which I have just looked up as I'm not a fisherman - yet 😁), but I will be tying knots in it, will this we can all break the line at the point where the knot is obviously, IE will making knots in it cause weakness in the wire? Very Many thanks.

Hi Robert, There is some super thin trace wire on the market that does knot ok, but most don't. Typically if your buying or making your own traces for predator fishing you'll be using crimps. Crimping gives a very secure and reliable way to attach hooks and create loops etc. So it sort of depends what your hanging and how heavy it is as to wether you want to go down the road of buying some crimps. Plus you'll need a crimping tool set of pliers to press them properly.<b

A
Hi Lucy, We're not sure as its not stated on the spool. Similar wire traces of that breaking strain come in at around' 0.6mm. Regards TackleUK
