Marc says: The vast majority of my fishing involves solid PVA bags and my bag of choice has become these Transit versions from Avid.
I use the size 5 because it%u2019s nice and small and allows me to fish a solid bag at relatively decent ranges. I am no big caster, but packed tightly I can get one of these around the 100yd mark, a bit more on a good day. That%u2019s plenty for the fishing that I do.
They're easy to use, too, and I reckon that from the hundreds that I have tied, less than a handful have split on me. That's more than can be said for some bags on the market, including some very popular ones, in my experience.
Melt time is pretty standard in most conditions, with the bags taking around three to five minutes to completely dissolve, depending on the contents. Let%u2019s face it, how often do you get a bite within a couple of minutes or so of casting out? If you are getting bites this quickly, then I want a ticket where you%u2019re fishing!
