Description
The original Shimano baitrunner free spool reel has seen many technological advances and cosmetic alterations over the last three decades, spawning countless imitators along the way. The Baitrunner ST comes in classic black with an XT7 spool finished in silver. Packed with far more advanced features than you'd reasonably expect to find on a Baitrunner at this price point. Line lay is excellent thanks to their Varispeed oscillation which involves an oval and a square gear, computer engineered to interact perfectly. Incorporating a gutsy 4.6:1 retrieve, double handle and the equivalent of 5 ball bearings, the ST is available in both 6000 and 10000 models, if you're looking for a quality entry-level free spool reel, look no further than the new Baitrunner ST.

Is the 6000 body the same size as the 10000 with a different spool, or is the body smaller on the 6000?

They are pretty much identical, aside from the depth of the spools.

Great reel, all the features work smooth and well,
good for long and controlled casting
Rear drag system with two settings is brilliant in both baitrunner and retrieving modes.
Take some time to get to know the reel and its controls as the instructions are lacking.
Hadled a lively 10lb pike with full control - now looking for that 30lb one with confidence.
Just got a pair of these again as my old ones were getting very worn, not because of mechanical problems just looking dirty and chipped, got them when they first come out,
So i got myself another pair can't fault them good for small to medium size lake fishing.
And for £45 can't fault that , best buy for this product name :) for this type of reel

Really good quality reel never let you down just remember if your a keen carp fisherman make sure you fill the spools up totally before otherwise casting distance is shortened dramatically due to the deep spool! As ever shimano are excellent.
Brilliant just had a 17lb Pike using the above Shimano Baitrunner ST 6000 RA, i cant wait for the winter to come to have go at the real big girls. The best £89.00 i have ever spent.
