I bought this for inshore kayak fishing, mostly using leads from 4-10 oz and 12 or 20lb class boat rods. It was recommended to me by a close friend who swears by them. Have used it twice and am very pleased with it for the price. It's lightweight yet feels reasonably robust, I'm told its well up to the rigours of salt water kayak fishing as long as it is well rinsed after every trip and stripped and re lubed a couple of times a year. In fact I had to strip mine after the second trip as I got it immersed. This revealed fairly standard but solid looking inners, though the drag washers look a little on the flimsy side .
The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was there seems to be plastic components where you might expect metal on a more expensive reel - such as the star drag handle and the level wind bits - both visible in the pic. A very minor niggle is the clicking noise on reeling in, I've never liked this in a reel but it seems very smooth and free running.
Overall very pleased so far , time will tell how well it lasts.

This is an excellent product at a very competitive price. The reel is light but robust, ideal for inshore boating for cod pollack etc.
Another piece of lightweight tackle from Shimano. Good quality, smooth and fast. Handle could be bigger if you like a chunky grip when you wind in.
