The fantastic new Drennan Front Drag reel – available in two sizes, this one is an FD-3000 (there is also a slightly bigger FD-4000). These have been in development & testing for a couple of years now (in fact you can see Peter Drennan using an early version on a Summer 2009 Barbel video on the Drennan website) and we’ve taken great care over everything such as the gearing, spools, sizes, colours, graphics etc etc.
Key features include a superbly responsive front drag control, beautifully designed one-touch folding handle and a subtle dark blue livery with understated graphics. Furthermore there is a total of THREE ALLOY spools all designed by us to take exactly 100m of mono, with tailored push-in line breaking strain buttons and a sprue of spare buttons supplied.
The FD-3000 model has been designed as a quality float fishing reel (although it will serve fine on a medium feeder rod) and the FD-4000 as a Float / Feeder reel, being designed to take 100m of slightly higher breaking strain lines.
With a retail price of £54.95 for the FD-3000, and £59.95 for the FD-4000, we expect demand to be massive – so be sure to check one out in your local Drennan stockist at the earliest opportunity. Every reel has been meticulously checked and tested here in Oxford prior to dispatch.
