TronixPro Xenon Tapered Shockleaders, utilising an advanced co-polymer to create a very strong, but supple leader. This means tying neat and compact knots is easy for the angler when attaching to mainline. The smooth line flow helps to increase your casting efficiency, whether using braid or mono.

is it a reasonable assumption that a 15lb mainline is sufficient for sea fishing off the beach or in an estuary? it certainly fits in with using a tapered leader.

when it comes to tapered shock leaders which end do you tie to the mainline? my bought (thus far) rigs feature an 80lb rig body. my reel line might end up being 15lb mono. it seems odd that I would tie the thick end of the leader to the mainline and then the thin end to an 80lb rig body. can you be specific and clear this up for me, thank you.

Hi Robert,
The lighter end of the shock leader would be attached to the mainline and the heavier end to the rig. Hope this helps.
